Henshin

If I stop and think about it, it feels too crazy to imagine-- under two weeks ago, we were 8, the 8 I knew and a well-oiled tea machine, and now we are 11 and the 4 turned into 7 brand new ones and in the space of two days we morphed from underdogs to overlords.  Benevolent overlords, I hope. 

And what happened in that 48 hours where it was just us?  Or maybe it was only 36?  Mostly we cleaned I think. And then, how has it been a week already? 

People congratulate us: sempai ni narimashita!  You became sempai.
Yes, I say.  It's busy, this first week!, I say. 

A few of the new kohai have called me Michelle-sempai. 
And I say, no no.
